January D. Barrett

Ms. Barrett was admitted to practice law in Colorado in 2005. She is also registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Ms. Barrett received her degree in biology from the College of Charleston (B.S. 2000). Thereafter, she graduated from the University of Hawaii, William S. Richardson School of Law (J.D.2005)

Ms. Barrett is a member of the El Paso County, Colorado, and American Bar Associations.

Ms. Barrett’s practice focuses on commercial litigation in a wide range of areas including administrative law, contracts, insurance bad faith, ERISA, and intellectual property. January’s experience also includes prosecution of patents and trademark applications and advising clients on acquisition, use, protection, and licensing of their intellectual properties.

Prior to joining Hanes & Schutz ,LLC January worked for legal Aid assisting indigent clients with family law issues, and worked with South Carolina’s Ocean and Costal Resource Management, a state regulatory agency focusing on responsible development and preservation of wetland and coastal areas.
