Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)
Trials are an expensive and time consuming method of resolving disputes. Because of their formal mediation training, the attorneys of Hanes & Schutz, LLC are uniquely positioned to assist parties in resolving disputes outside of the formal settings and procedures of court litigation. Before positions are chiseled into stone, bringing parties to one or more sessions of mediation aided by a third party mediator is often the best early start in resolving a problem. If the opportunity for early mediation is lost, arbitration is another attractive alternative to litigation. When litigation has begun and the parties have established positions, ADR is still available in the form of settlement conferences with the help of a settlement advisor, often called a mediator, to assist the parties in coming to a reasonable settlement of the dispute prior to incurring the expense of trial and trial preparation. Hanes & Schutz, LLC is trained and equipped to assist its clients in all of these arenas.
